Kep International School is seeking an energetic, creative, and resourceful Kindergarten Teacher to join our professional team in the peaceful seaside community of Kep.
Job Title Kindergarten Teacher Job Classification Full-time contract for the 2016-17 school year. Job Description The Kindergarten teacher is the primary instructor for the English immersion Seahorses Kindergarten classroom at Kep International School. The class is our advanced Kindergarten class and is geared toward children who are 5 – 6 years old who are preparing for Primary School. The duties and responsibilities are to: ~ Follow the KIS Seahorses classroom international Kindergarten curriculum to prepare, teach, and evaluate the following classes in the English language: English, Mathematics, Science, Art, Geography, Character Building, Music, and Play-dough. ~ Comprehensively and continuously monitor and evaluate the progress of the students, using professional acumen and exceptional communication skills to communicate the progress of the students with their parents and guardians. ~ Lead a classroom culture that emphasizes respect, diversity, and a healthy learning environment of curiosity and discovery. ~ Lead the visual and functional development of the Kindergarten classroom to create a safe and aesthetically pleasing learning environment. ~ Fully supervise quite nap time for the whole combined Kindergarten program during the break time for the teaching assistants. ~ Conduct health and wellness checks. Qualifications Candidates from all nationalities and language backgrounds are invited to apply. Candidates must be fluent in the English language and have a bachelor’s degree. The successful candidate will have prior experience working with children who are ages 5 – 6 and will have a passion for teaching this age group. Contract Details This is a full-time contract position that begins immediately and ends on July 14, 2017. The hours of the position are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. with the exception of our official school holidays and the workplace culture follows our flexible workplace policy. In addition to public Cambodian holidays, there is a school holiday from December 17, 2016 through January 8, 2017. Application Process Phase #1 To begin the application process, please submit your CV to contact@kepinternationalschool.com. Please note that we are unable to respond to salary inquiries or other inquiries about the position if a CV is not included in the e-mail. Application Process Phase #2 Selected applicants will be invited for an introductory interview. This interview may be in-person at our campus in Kep, Cambodia or may be conducted online through Skype. Application Process Phase #3 Selected applicants will be invited to submit three references. These references can be either letters of recommendation or the name and contact information for the references. At least one reference must be from the previous school where the candidate was employed. After the references are checked, the applicant will be invited for a second interview. This interview must be completed in-person at our Kep campus unless the applicant does not currently live in Cambodia. Application Process Phase #4 Selected applicants will be invited to submit one of the following as an application material: 1) An original Kindergarten sample lesson plan for ages 5 - 6 OR 2) A video of the applicant teaching a Kindergarten lesson for ages 5 - 6 OR 3) an alternative creative representation of your teaching skills to teach at the Kindergarten level.
